The people were great. The Resort is in serious need of updating. We booked the Veranda suite . The air conditioner did not work. We were moved late that night to another Veranda room where the air conditioner did not work and the service vehicles were heard all night. The next day we paid extra to upgrade to a beach front room and the air in that room didn't work and clunked all night. There were no other rooms available. We paid extra for nothing. We booked a couples massage only to find out that the spa and gym were closed and the massage would have to be done in a pavillion out side. The weather was so hot and humid it would have been unbearable. They said they would come to our room but never showed or called. They said they left a message but the phone did not work. This could be a nice resort if they would spend some money to bring it out of the '80's'; It was so hot and humid in our room that the sheets felt wet. When you took a shower the fire alarm would go off. The tub/showe...
Very professional and positive experience from all the staff at this resort. They are quick at making you very comfortable. They are always asking if you need anything and go out of the way to get it for you. The hotel manager is extremly pleasant and it reflects the hole atmosphere of the resort. The food was average. Nothing to spectacular. Buffets were a different theme daily. We did not eat at the a la cart restaurant so I will not comment on it. But as far as service goes it was top notch and I would return to this resort for this reason.
My gf and I came here for a vacation and actually extended our stay for 2 days. The staff is so nice and fun to be around. Plenty of things to do just at the resort. We only left twice to play golf and take the trip to the grenedines to snorkle. We met so many nice couples to spend time with at the pool and after sunset. If you are looking to relax and enjoy a resort this is THE place to go. The only downfall is beaches are public, so pay attention for holidays.... the beach will be full of locals. But we just hung out at the pool with friends. SCUBA lessons are available for free as well. Don't be scared at the gate when you pull in.... the beauty is at the resort not at the street. We booked the ocean view and it was well worth it to have a balcony to enjoy the view. We are even thinking of going back again in '09.
My wife and I returned from our Honeymoon July 31, 2009 after a week at the Rendezvous Resort. All I can say is that there are too many HARD TO PLEASE people in this world!!! Our stay was excellent. It's true that the Rendezvous is not a state of the art, technologically enhanced, luxurious resort....but hell, we're from Miami, Florida and get that ALL the time. It was wonderfully peaceful and sirene, the scenery was great, the hotel staff are very accomodating, and island of St. Lucia itself is beautiful. I would definitely return and recommend.
The food was excellent most nights. A few nights, the asian and Italian nights we not as good. Other then that wonderful wonderful resort. The island and the people itself are beautiful as well. This is now my favorite island in the carribean and I've been to many. Definately definitely recommend. Eric the bartender rocks. Joann the entertainment head does a fantastic job. On a scale from 1 to 10, rendezvous gets an 11.
I've stayed at different resorts on various islands but this is one of the best ones. The big old tree is beautiful that's on the property. The entertainment and staff is great. The adult only atmosphere was great. I am looking forward to returning.
The resort is clean and beautiful. The staff was very friendly and knew our names. It is a small resort which helps the staff care for you and get to know you. Perfect place for romance. Plenty of activities to keep you busy. The scuba pros were great. Recommend doing a candlelight dinner on the beach and night dive.
We had an amazing stay! Fantastic food! Excellent service.. Felt special with all the extra care given.
We just returned from five nights at Rendezvous on June 7 and had a wonderful time. Rendezvous is a small all-inclusive perfect for couples looking to get away from it all. Because of it's small size it's certainly not a Sandals (which IMO is a good thing). While the resort is a little older, we loved the classic Caribbean style. The rooms were very comfortable, the food was varied from day to day and the staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. No complaints about the property. We travel extensively through the Caribbean and we generally won't go back to the same place because there are too many other places we've yet to experienced. But we would seriously consider revisiting Rendezvous in the future.
Hotel services, activites, and staff were wonderful. The staff was exceptionally helpful and accomodating to any request. Rooms were colorful and very nice (marble floors, beautiful bed, big balcony). Gardens were amazing and they managed to create a sense of privacy. Food was better than average with good variety. Buffet style dining was clean, tasteful and re-filled regularly, except for desert during lunch. However, location was not exactly as expected. The resort is a short walk to the capital city and adjacent to an airport and a cemetary. Beach was clean, but not private. Locals used the beach heavily on weekends and from about 4-7 during the week. Activities (boating, water skiing, volleyball) were great and staff offered lessons when needed. Resort staff encouraged guests to be involved in activities without being pushy, so maybe not a great choice for honeymooners looking for seclusion and minimal interaction. In addition, the island was hit by a huricane in fall 2010 and many...
We are early 30's couple that just visited for 7 nights on our honeymoon in late June. We had a fantastic time! The weather was fantastic and only would rain for short amounts of time when it did. The resort was VERY clean and our room was very nice. (luxury beach front suite) The food was amazing in the Terrace. We did do Trysting place one night and enjoyed the elegance and class of the restaurant. I am a vegetarian and there was always PLENTY of food available. Lots of Gluten free food too! The beach was very clean and well kept, tons of activities! You could stay busy there for days. We enjoyed the board in the lobby that listed daily activities! Drinks were great and always served with a smile. The staff was very welcoming and friendly! We felt very pampered. Loved the small feel of this resort and attention to detail. It wasn't over crowded and was nice that it was adults only! Pools were excellent and not crowded, so much to do everywhere! The grounds are full of cute photo oppo...
do not stay here the beach was covered in trash and brokn glass when I stayed there for my honeymoon. I was very dissatisfied.
My husband and I were in need of a 'get away' and Almond Morgan Bay provided everything we needed for a fun and relaxing vacation. The staff was friendly. The food was wonderful and plentiful. I especially loved the beach front bar-b-ques. Our room was just steps to the water. The room offered privacy and tranquility. We loved the entire 7 days we spent at Almond Morgan Bay!
My husband and I just returned fron a week vacation at the saint james club celebrating our 46 anniversarity . We had a great time . I must admit when we first saw our beach front room we were not impressed . The building block 600 looked old and the furniture was not impressive . But once we settled down from there we had a great time . Thanks for all the prior reviews and feedback prior to our trips. The food was plenty but not upscale . The restaurants were all in good shape and try Le Jordan it was worth the extra charge . Book your restaurant reservation early 3days in advance to get in . Our preferred was the MogGan pier . Take the catamaran excursion book from the hotel not the one offered on the beach from joys big difference. If you need transportation from the airport the saint Lucia shuttle is the best . If you want to experience truly blue Carribean water try Rodney bay the water was great. In total the value for this vacation was incredibly cheep compared to other vacation...
My husband and I went the week of April 9th to 16th, 2011. I think it was a bit off season as the resort was not that crowded and we were always able to a beach chair. We really enjoyed the Hotel, the staff is friendly and professional. It is all inclusive but it helps to tip, we tipped $5 a day for Maid Service and we also gave our Bartender a $1 per drink. We also tipped our wait staff at each mail, They are so appreciative and it is great to see the smile on their face. The food was very good especially the breakfast Buffet and Morgan's Seafood restuarant. We also loved the Burgers at the Buffet on the Beach. While it is kid friendly I never felt that the kids were loud or obnoxious. The evening Entertainment was also quite enjoyable, especially the band and the Almond Dancers. Went to Gros Islet Street Party on Friday Night after dinner, it was fun & festive, definitley take a Taxi and have them pick you up at a specific time. Two hours should be plenty.
Great resort , As repeat guests, my husband and me were welcomed with an amazing bouquet of flowers, a bottle of local dark rum and a bottle red wine in our room. It had been our third visit to this lovely resort. The staff are friendly and very helpful. They always made sure our vacation was enjoyable. We have eaten at each restaurant on the resort, my husband likes the Plum Tree restaurant for his aftrenoon snacks. I like the Morgan Pier restaurant for its seafood menu. Breakfast at this resort is something to look forward to; there is a wide variety of Caribbean food together with American and Continental. Tea and coffee are available all day! Lots of activities to do on resort and carefully planned tours with Guest Services. This resort is located on one of the best beaches on the island. It is close to the capital city Castries and the George Charles Airport.
The food was horrible. The drinks were subpar. The pools were filthy and green. We went without towels for 2 days and had to reuse dirty towels for an additional day. While the general hotel staff was nice to us the front desk personnel were extremely rude. In all reconsider your selection of this hotel if you are looking for a relaxing getaway.
Most of the rooms are on the side of a steep hill. We had to climb 51 steps and several steep ramps to get to our room. They said they would take us to the room in a golf cart but we had to wait 15-20 minutes each time for the cart - everyone wants to use them. In addition the hotel is in the city. The hotel's neighbors had a dog that frequently barked early in the am or at night when trying to go to sleep. Room is an average hotel room - nothing to get excited about. The only good things I have to mention are the food and good natured employees. All were kind and most gave excellent service.
The resort is very nice, however, the all inclusive meals are less than average quality at all of the restaurants. There are three restaurants that service meals. Breakfast is a buffet and average. Lunches and dinners have the same menu every night at the three on site restaurants. The food preparation is below average. Actually rather boring and disappointing. This issue would prevent me from returning too Almond Morgan Bay.
My boyfriend and I went here in Aug. 2010, and we both had a great, relaxing time. We got a great deal, and stayed for 7 nights. The room was clean, the bed was commfy, and we had a wonderful view of the ocean / island. The food was decent, and I really liked that you had the lunch option of a sit down meal, as opposed to a buffet, which gets old and repetitive very quickly. My boyfriend ate fish almost every night and said it was all delicious (he still talks about some of the meals he had.) I am not such a big fish eater, so stuck to the meat, which was okay. Beach is small and chairs go quickly. There are several pools on the resort, but we found ourselves at the adult only salt water pool up above, which was generally a bit quieter than all the others. They have some nightly entertainment - not a ton compared to other resorts I've been to at other islands - but was a moot issue for us, as we were often in bed before we had time to enjoy it. (Sun and sand and fresh air = very tired)...
I just returned from a somewhat good vacation in St Lucia – staying at St James Club Morgan Bay. Highlights/lowlights below: 1) The towel service had inconsistent hours and at one point during the lunch hours ran out of towels completely. Never happened to me before at a resort … 2) The rooms are in dire need of a refresh/update. 3) Although the staff were the best part of the resort (in my opinion), we had two fairly significant bad experiences with a) a woman named Vanilla who worked in the after-hours lounge area and b) the older assistant in the shop. Both need a lesson in dealing with customers – firing would be kinder (again in my opinion). 4) When I told the resort that I wanted a card for someone in charge to discuss one of the bad experiences I had, no one asked what, how, why, etc. … very strange. 5) Whenever we tried to make reservations at one of the special restaurants, the location of where to make those reservations changed and/or the choices had inconsistent dates/hours...
Resort was great, under new ownership since December 2011 and was well maintained and clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Literature states there was a dress code for dinner, but it is not enforced as everything was very casual
Our stay at Almond Morgan was great and I would definitely recommend this place to others. The staff at the resort were extremely friendly and helpful. They were personable and always willing to assist in any way possible. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and spacious. There were activities at the resort each night if you want to stay on the premise, otherwise you could head into town in a quick and reasonable cab ride. The activities desk could arrange any excurssions for you, hassle free. The only negative about this resort, would be that there were a couple of locals that hang out on the beach, who could be very annoying. However, the staff informed us that if the locals bothered us at all, to let them know and they would take care of it. They weren't too annoying if you stayed away from that tiny section of the beach or ignored them, but they would try to get you to buy some items or purchase an all day excurrsion. There were plenty of lounge chairs around the pool and three pool...
My wife and I just returned from a fabulous trip to St. Lucia. This was our eighth time in as many years and staying at Almond Morgan Bay for the third time was simply the best choice. The grounds are beautiful and so very well kept. Restaurants served up many delicious meals that I savoured and Im still talking about. You have your choice of pools and bars to experience serving premium brand drinks. My wife doesnt drink alcoholic beverages but was more than pleased with the delicious fruit drinks they prepared. We didnt watch much of the entertainment but others told us they enjoyed it very much. If you are interested in excursions you can book them through the office in the lobby. Food is not in short supply as there is a grill opened (with bar) throughout the day. Almond Morgan is relatively a large resort (340 rooms) with many choices of accommodations. Our room was second to none. It had an amazing view of both the capital city of Castries as well as a magnificent ocean vi...
Easy to access staff. No long lines or too busy staff. But, it was off season. No
the hotel is ideal for the business traveler.close proximity to restaurants and minutes away from castries. right in the heart of rodney bay which the most lively part of st.lucia in my opinion. i will definitely stay there on my next business trip. i do think that breakfast should be added to the package though.
Great location overlooking the lagoon. Staff friendly and room clean.
