the food was fantastic compliments to the chefs
We had an excellent meal in the restaurant and our room in the hotel was very comfortable very good value the breakfast was delicious also the courtyard was lovely The bar prices, we were at a wedding reception and the drinks were expensive, but I would stay here again .
Great food, good selection of real ales. Free Wi-Fi
The room was nice The room was comfortable, airy and clean and the new bathroom excellent restaurant staff were slow to greet us and seat us
The style but especially the food and drink.
the staff were really friendly and the service was excellent.
Food verry good staff in resturant and breakfast ok Heating not working good job they had room vacant for us
The staff were very helpful and pleasant to talk to nothing was too much trouble. Could no really get any good programmes on the tv
Good reception from staff, great room Fire alarm went off at 2 in the mornig because of someone smoking in the rooms
Nice room. Great restaurant.
excellent accessand staff
Leisure facilities Price of breakfast!
it was convenient for our travelling, clean tidy and friendly just that the leisure facilities were not open
staff really helpful and friendly standard of room service food disappointing especially the childrens food. Also the attitude of the ? hotel gym members a bit brusque.
The pool and gym facilities were an added bonus and very good. We got upgraded to a larger room but unfotunately it was a smoking room - to be fair, as we were only staying one night it wasn't a big deal but it would have been nice to have been asked if we minded being in a smoking room as we would have declined the upgrade.
Convenient, comfortable and plenty of free parking unfortunately there was a smell from the drains in our bathroom
The gym. Does not strike me as being particularly worthy of the difference in price when compared to a Premier Inn, which has more ambience in their Beefeaters/Brewers Fayre (attached) restaurants.
very clean, good situ off M62 food was Ok not brilliant
Due to the fact that the swimming pool was closed and my collegues from work booked the same rooms at the same price but included breakfast and ours did not I rather hoped that a discount would have been offered
I liked the swimming pool and suana facilities. The staff was also very friendly and the it was a very good value for money. the furniture and decoration (particularly of the room) was not up to the normal standards of Holiday inn.
Staff were overall very friendly. Location next to train station ideal for people arriving late. Food in the restaurant bar was good quality, although the choice was fairly limited. Hotel is in a fairly old building so there was no double glazing in the room and there was some noise from roads and neighbouring buildings.
The hotel was comfortable and clean with a gteat view just outside the front door. A gteat place to rest your head from beautiful Yorkshire sightseeing. The menu available in the bar was very limited and did not change day to day. It would have been good to have a couple of vegetarian options.
The location was perfect, across from train station. The place was attractive and reasonably priced in the market. There was no access to the internet, and the hotel staff were uninformed about where such access could be found. Also, there was minimal information about local community services.
Have stayed there many times, it is convenient for the railway station and Halifax centre, some rooms are better and quieter than others, but the hotel is usually ok.
being left to our own devices and not being troubled un-necessarily by staff.
Reception staff very good. Breakfast staff bored and the whole breakfast experience was shoddy. This left a bad feeling after an otherwise very good stay.
The staff were very friendly and willing to joke around whilst being extremely efficient and eager to help. They went out of their way to do things for me, and did them very well. I had read online reviews from 2005 which said the hotel was grotty, etc., but either people have incredibly exacting standards or they have had refurbishment because the room looked just fine to me. 3 stars is entirely appropriate, I think.
Staff helpfull food good There was nothing I did not like at the hotel
The staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were dated but clean and functional.
The staff there were very friendly and helpfull.
We wanted a hotel within walkling distance from theatre and restaurants that was affordable and comfortable. This hotel ticked all the boxes. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast plentyful and good. Room clean and tidy. Price excellent. Would recommend it if you want to stay in town for a quick overnight stay.
