Restaurant staff and location Noisy imposible to sleep , hotel offers ears plugs?? We change rooms 3 times , all noisy. Try a front bedroom perhaps you escape from the air conditioning noise.
Great location. Wonderful, friendly staff. Very clean and comfortable. Because parking is at a premium in that area of Evanston, we had to valet park and it's expensive.
My wife and I, and our 2 kids under 3 in Chicago for a family reunion. I selected this location, as I'm familiar with the Evanston area, and the price was reasonable. Wow. More than reasonable, for the room, the view, and the helpful staff. Great stay! Everything was satisfactory.
Overall the location was great We were there on a holiday weekend so pricing was higher than the standard rate. The rooms were much smaller than i expected, especially for the star rating of the hotel and the price we paid. If i had to do it over again, i would stay somewhere cheaper as it wasn't nice enough to warrant the cost. The AC was also very "hot and cold" and turn off on itself in the middle of the night causing an uncomfortable sleep.
beautiful facility and great location the place has been updated and is attractive, but the bathrooms are like stepping in an airline bathroom and the AC/heat unit puts out some noise
loved that everything was within for the most part in walking distance That you still had to pay for parking when you stayed at hotel and had to pay for three days when only stayed two.
We were given a small room on the eighth floor right by the elevator. The HVAC system ran all night. It went from cold to hot all night. The noise level from the unit was unbearable. The desk staff apologized and nothing else despite the very obvious sign that says if I'm not happy they will fix it. I had to point this out to her before she offered any sort of compensation. For that one night I received free valet parking...Thanks...
Close to Northwestern University Long drive to Chicago destinations
Had issues with wifi and they were not really addressed.
Everyone we dealt with went out of their way to make sure we were all amen care of The hotel, being a block away from a playground, needs to be more child friendly. There were glass jars on low shelves in the breakfast dining room area and the a/c untits and microwaves are at the level/height where kids can do some damage! it would also be great to have a ramp at the entrance instead of a small wheelchair lift.
With in close proximity to the train. Very nice area! $18 a night to park! After spending $200 a night outside of down town Chicago! This is a bit excessive!
The Inn has charm and fits in with a visit to the Chicago area.
Stayed here for two nights while visiting Northwestern for a speaking engagement. Hotel was ideally located, a good value, and appealing in a quirky way. Staff was extremely helpful/friendly. The continental breakfast is mediocre.
I loved this place! I want to come back. It is a unique property - VERY clean and comfortable. It is special and not a cookie-cutter mundane chain motel. It is a 1920's historical women's club now welcoming hotel guests. It has all the historical charm - NOT gutted and remodeled - so it may not be everyone's choice. I really liked the distinction and the VERY friendly staff. I liked it completely and I like an unusual and special experience off the beaten track.
They had a nice friendly dog and he added a nice homey touch to the stay.
The whole experience was very nice. I loved the antiques.
The hotel has a very European feel, with wide staircases, lovely common rooms, and old-wprld charm. Very clean and comfortable. A wonderful breakfast spread. The history of the building is an added interest factor. It would be nice to have a small coffee maker in the room, there was none.
It was in the center of the city and close to everything The remote control of the TV set was not working and was never fixed during my 3 day stay. The breakfast (though it is advertised as bed and breakfast) was lousy (cereal and cold boiled eggs!!)
Awesome staff, nice old furnishings, beautiful parlor and library and good value. The beds could be a bit newer, and if you like all the mod cons, don't stay at this hotel, it is charmingly vintage.
Quaint, clean, convenient
Older than old. No updates or upkeep. Scary, not charming,
Older building, but that added to its vintage charm. Room was clean, warm, cozy, and well-stocked with amenities. Staff were very friendly. I didn't use the laundry room, but it's convenient that there is one available.
It is extremely well-priced. It is quiet, clean, with courteous staff. It is walking distance to Evanston business/shopping district and Northwestern University. The room was a little shabby and the bed's mattress was clearly old.

Quiet and located in a beautiful suburb near ChicagoStaff was very friendly Parking was great Shower was very small.
Excellent location. Nice view. Comfortable room which was smallish but not crowded. Real closets. Although the shower stall was small, the shower head was mounted high, which I like because I am tall and which is often not the case. The beds were very comfortable, but they were pretty short. There was some noise from other rooms, but it wasn't out of the ordinary.
An attractive hotel. The front porch offers a pleasant place to dine and relax. The breakfast has a wide menu choice. Parking at a nearby city garage is handy and free! The downtown location is its best asset! The room is a bit small and needs some updating.
The staff is terrific! Complimentary breakfast (great selection), free parking, great location. Hotel is a little dated.
Very charming. Nestled in a quaint neighborhood.
