Nothing after what I witnessed. The manager completely dropped the ball on getting back to me about resolving the issue. A male employee took a female employees head and simulated filacio as she was trying to work and dry gulped her repeatedly. It was completely inappropriate. Management did not seem to care about resolving the issue, but more interested in just getting me out. It was so uncomfortable to stay there, and in an effort to avoid those staff I ordered room service, and the same man brought the food to my room. I told him I did not like what j saw and he explained that because he had worked with her for years it was ok that he put his hands on her like that and shove her face into his crotch area. They didn't even comp the room service. I have never in my life seen so much lude sexual behavior come from any Hilton staff, and a complete lack of care to make it right with me. Sexual harassment is a huge issue, and it broke my heart to see that woman so uncomfortable. At least in some weird way I was there to call him out so he would quit groping her. Staff told me that isn't the only problem they have had with that gentlemen, so apparently respect for fellow human beings is not high on their priority list. It was caught on camera, but three days later when the manager was finally "back in" somehow he didn't find it necessary to review it. To make matters worse, I had met up with a long time friend of mine while in the area, so there were more witnesses to this atrocious behavior. Sexual harassment of any kind IS NOT OK. I spent 1000.00 dollars only to be afraid to come out of my room for the remainder of my stay. It was awful.
My wife, daughter, and I stayed for the annual OBX marathon. Check in was smooth, although the requested crib was not in the room upon check-in. A call to the front desk rectified that. The king bed provided a good night's sleep. After the race I intended to hit the hot tub and the info of pool. My only complaint was that the hot tub chlorine level was too high; commented by the other six patrons. My eyes were visibly watering. I then moved to the pool; so much for heated (which actually worked well as an ice bath, but that wasn't my original intent). After only 20 minutes, my wife indicated the chlorine levels were causing my daughter to start coughing, so we left. The rest of the stay was uneventful. The breakfast bar was nice, and the omelette tasted good. Overall, a good stay. My wife mentioned that this was the nicest Hilton Garden Inn she's ever stayed at, and she's a Hilton Honors member. Would return; just fix the chlorine level.
We loved our stay here! Location can't be beat....right on the beach. Even with a "side ocean view" room we had amazing views! So many stores and restaurants within walking distance. Staff was always friendly and facility was clean. We'd come back in a minute! My only complaints are that the breakfast at the hotel was not all that good. Because of that, we never tried it for another meal. Also, I really wish there was laundry on site.
Exceptional in every way - decor, comfort & service. The mosquitoes were oppressive in Oct.; can't imagine what it's like there in the summer. Also, we 'knew' we had neighbors because they allowed their children to run around on the outside deck; a nuisance to peace & quiet (but it IS a family resort).
The indoor waterpark is a great amenity for families with children. There are plenty of activities you can do at the resort and nearby parks. I would recommend booking this resort for a week to really enjoy all its amenities. It is a bit far from the ocean. Even though it has a private parking lot near the waterfront, you most drive to it.
Very quiet. Newly remodeled. Read the fine print - there is a daily activity fee that is added to the advertised daily rate. Also after checkin I was sent to a concierge who put on a hard sell for some package deal, but was unhelpful with respect to restaurant recommendations.
