Couple flies in the room during stay
This hotel was exactly what I wanted it to be - reasonably priced and right on the beach. You know when you're booking a Comfort Inn that it's not going to be a luxury experience, but everything was well-kept and staff were very helpful and accommodating.
Great location. Breach view. Friendly Staff. Decent Breakfast. Many problems with the room. Tub drained poorly. TV didn't work. Went to a new room. AC unit broke. They couldn't fix it. Maid service was substandard. Limited ice machines.
Nice staff. Strange elevator layout; moderate inconvenience but nothing terrible.
Nothing. No one at front desk for 20 minutes and they didn't answer their phone. Room stunk like a wet dog. Front desk person named Mardi was unprofessional and gruff.
The rooms were good but the staff was fantastic! They were the to help anyway they could and were always willing to go the extra step to make our stay great!
We've stayed nearly everywhere on the beach (I grew up on the obx and we come often to visit family). This is one of the cleanest hotels on the beach, and certainly the friendliest staff. It's got its short comings like everywhere else, but it's over all, a great hotel for the (off season/shoulder) price.
Ocean-front/ Beach Good location Jacuzzi/ Heating pool Free internet First and second floor are not ocean-view, there is small hill in front of the hotel
Visited for the weekend and woke up Saturday morning to no hot water- apparently the hotel is not well equipped enough to handle multiple guests showering at once. The heat in our room wasn't functioning properly- and all around awful experience.
I liked the ice machine with good proximity to the room. For the most part, the staff were nice. The balcony was a nice touch. Let's start with the bird that almost ate my girlfriend's finger. I have pictures. It isn't pretty. Apparently, this bird belongs to the owner (!) and, to be honest, it almost died that day. I almost killed the bird, despite being an active vegan and animal rights supporter. That is how enraged I was. The staff took two minutes to find a spray bottle to de-couple this bird from her hand. The bird, we can only guess, was mad at my girlfriend for allowing the bird to rest on her arm, but she wasn't actively petting the bird. After the incident, the staff snickered and thought it WAS FUNNY. When we asked for some hydrogen peroxide, they responded "we are out". They did provide us with alcohol wipes. This is unacceptable. One could go off about random yellow stains - topical, actual, mustard-like stains on the ceiling of the room, (also have pictures), or the staff scrubbing our appointment before we arrived (via Kayak, NOT Expedia), or the lack of HBO, but I'm gonna stay on the bird-thing. Absolutely not cool. Not only will I never go to any Ramada Inn again, but I am going to make sure everyone I know traveling through the OBX knows about their lobby-piece "Sabrina the biting bird". The fact that staff reacted as if it was "just another biting" and even upon checkout we got the "jeez, so sorry" in that "please go away" tone makes us feel like they get PLEASURE from watching people get injured from this bird. Yelp is my next stop. Take this place off your list of where to stay.
Location is great, hot tub and pool are real nice, staff is outstanding and the rooms are nice!
Staff were quick to fix problems Outdated hotel cost too much for off season
We loved our spacious hotel room and playing with Sabrina every day. We liked everything.
The staff was very welcoming! The rooms were very clean! And the bed was very comfortable! Couldn't open the window to be able to listen to the waves crash along the beach while I slept.
Very friendly staff. Hotel was clean and renovations (ongoing) are really nice.
Location Cleanliness Comfort of bed
Easy access to oceanfront, nice pool and jacuzzi inside, clean, quiet, professional and courteous staff.
The hotel was close to everything we had planned for our trip, while we did not have time to enjoy all of their ammenities as our schedule was pretty tight. My only complaint was the poor condition of the mattresses. Both beds in our room had the most worn out mattress which provided for a terrible nights sleep. They need to be replaced months ago.
The easy access to the beach. Hotel was not clean and I found over priced which I understand the amount I paid for was basically bc it was on the beach. The common areas were very nice, however the rooms could use some updating. We had to move rooms our first night due to water leaking in the bathroom. We were on 2 nd floor and water leaking from ceiling in the bathroom was commode water from the above floors. Customer service was great. We were moved into another room and received a discount. However the second room we located to, the bathroom walls had hair on the walls which I knew was not ours being we hadn't even used the shower yet. The bathroom could use some updating and could be cleaner. For the price paid, sadly I won't be staying here again.
Great price and great location!! Really clean rooms and free breakfast!! N/A
Upon arrival, we were upgraded to an oceanview room since it was offseason. We very much enjoyed that! The beds were very plush and enjoyable. There was a close beach access right across the street that we took advantage of too! The TV access in the room was perfect! The pillows available were in varying degrees of plush, which I thought was a nice touch. Overall, it was a very quiet stay with friendly staff. There were several mysterious stains around the room- resembling blood? We avoided them. The layout of the room was unusual, with the toilet and bath/shower in one room and the sink and light switches outside the bathroom. That took some getting used to! The fleece blankets on both beds had foreign hairs and stains on them so we ended up taking them off of the beds and just sleeping with the sheets and comforters. I tried to take a bath but the tub plug was broken, which was disappointing because I wanted to take a bath as I was sick one night on our stay. The breakfast was of any standard continental breakfast- the waffles were delicious and the milk was ice cold but it worried me that the yogurt was only in an ice bucket and burned when you ate it, and the breakfast sandwiches were just sitting out.
Close proximity to wright bros memorial. The allowance of smokers on a floor where my non smoking room was. Hallway smelled like an ashtray. Breakfast was barely that. For $100/night in the off season i expected more. I will stay somewhere else next time.
Did not like that I was not able to do a courtesy late checkout.
We travel regularly to obx, wanted a quick weekend get away but was cautious on planning due to weather, booked it on Thursday for Saturday due to our normal hotels not having ocean view available. For the price it wasn't bad at all, pool was nice and clean, rooms were on par for the price, breakfast buffet was regular items but clean and tasteful. Parking was awesome as well. Lack of elevators
Upon check in, I was upgraded to a small suite just a few steps from the oceanfront! The staff and the suite were exemplary for what I was seeking, peace and quiet! I have stayed here on many occasions and even without the upgrade, this remains my favorite spot to unwind!
- front desk staff was very friendly and helpful - cleaning staff kept room neat and tidy - room was essentially clean and comfortable for the most part - even though my room was on the roadside there was no appreciable outside noise to interrupt sleep - the breakfast was present for early risers like myself and contained a variety of items including eggs and sausage - the room had a very small bathroom with the wash basin actually in the main room - the bathroom door did not close well when there was a bathroom mat on the floor - there was an overpowering odor most probably from using too much cleaning solution the first night's stay - there was no listing of the TV stations - no dirty laundry bags were supplied - the room was adequate for my one person occupancy but could stand upgrading and expansion to accommodate more than one person even though there were two double beds. -
