Unfortunately, the location was the best I can say for this hotel. When we first walked into the room, there was a musty odor. It remained there throughout our visit. Within the first hour, we saw 3 ants on the table and 2 on the bed. I will never stay at this hotel again.
Very friendly staff. Clean and quiet. Good value.
Surprisingly both times I needed to work with the front desk, the attendant was initially unavailable because they were outside on a "smoke break."
My cousin and I visited Virginia Tech in June 2008. At that time, the Courtyard Marriott was only 8 months old. The facility is beautiful, spacious and clean, the beds were very comfortable, the pool and hot tub delightful after a day of sightseeing, and there were hot chocolate chip cookies at the check in desk! There is no continenal breakfast, but a breakfast buffet with numerous choices that was well worth the price. This is a no smoking motel, so that was pleasant, as there were no lingering smoke odors in the room, which sported rich cherry furniture, microwave and fridge. There was even an extra telephone in the bathroom! I would definitely stay there again, and recommend this establishment highly to anyone visiting Blacksburg and Virginia Tech.
Everything - cleanliness, amenities, staff, room size/setup.. great stay. Somewhat limited supply of common drink choices at the lounge.
The hotel with the hot tub and pool without an extra charge was a bonus. The noise level outside the room from a party across the hall was distrubing.
I am extremely unhappy with Priceline. The hotel had a discount rate for ESS technology and when I called priceline the rep said the only way he could help me with that rate was to send him a link to the hotel that indicated the discount. After I contacted the hotel they do not list special rates for companies. I mentioned this to your rep he said he could not help me. The special rate wasxxx per night.
The only problem was we were right next to the elevators lots of noise coming and going.
Hotel was ok Maid trying to clean the room at 830 on a Sunday morning. The day before the room was never made up at all

Nice lobby. Priceline customers get low end rooms? Room too noisy & uncomfortably cold (regardless of thermostat). 1st key did not work & replacement had problems. Front desk did not always answer phone. High price for modest conditions & they charge for breakfast.
Great value for the price No
Got what I paid for, a place to put my head for the night. Smelled a bit musty, a bit old. Can't stand the tiny pillows!!
It was very clean
The only good thing the staff was friendly, This hotel was filthy, dirty, had mold in bathrooms. Needs a complete redo (inside and out). Total disappointment. Will not stay here again. Have never stayed in a hotel this bad.
Front desk staff very good. Adequate parking. Great complimentary breakfast.
Breakfast was delicious Room was between two smoking rooms so there was some underlying smoke smell.
Room felt dirty
Breakfast shut down too early
The staff was very helpful and nice. When we got there the air conditioner was broken. this was fixed by the front desk worker. Also we saw a bed bug as we were packing up to leave.
Location, staff and breakfast Our non smoking room smelled like an ashtray.
Location The room wasn't bad, however I am about 80% certain our room had bedbugs. I saw a few bugs in the bed and can't be certain as I don't know what they look like, but I have taken all precautions just in case.
easy to get in and out of Blacksburg. The breakfast meal was very good we requested a king non smoking and instead ended up with two double beds and the room smelled as if it had been a smoking room. For the money and a two night minimum it was a disapointment.
parking breakfast was awful, wifi did not work
Rooms were very clean and well-kept (I'm picky about this). Location is very convenient to the campus. Staff was very helpful as well. Not a deal-breaker, but the onsite breakfast options could be better. When we stayed breakfast ended at 930 am and we missed it because of an early meeting.
the desserts through room service were amazing breakfast seating should go past 10am on Sunday
