Location was amazing, right in the middle of downtown Walls were thin so we could hear our next door neighbors while they were awake
Perfect location for a VT visit! It was VT Open House weekend so it was a bitnoisy but I understood that I probably would be.
Very Clean. Like new. Convenient
Surprisingly both times I needed to work with the front desk, the attendant was initially unavailable because they were outside on a "smoke break."
My room was clean and updated. The front desk and other staff was very nice and helpful. They offer a good hot breakfest. The bed was hard and sleeping on it for four days made my back hurt making it hard for me to sleep.
Very friendly staff. Clean and quiet. Good value.
The staff was great. Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very good -- much more than I expected. people in the room next to us had a yappy dog, and they apparently went out for the evening and left it in the room. Walls are pretty thin, because I could hear them talking when they got back -- very late.
The heating unit in the room was very loud and woke me up several times during the night. It sounded like someone was tapping on the window every time it started up and when it would shut off. The hotel room was very outdated and dark even with every light on.
The staff was friendly and accomating. They worked with us to correct any issues and went out of the way to make us feel welcome. At breakfast they were attentive and hands on. The breakfast itself was top notch and delicious. We were give a dirty room at check in. It smelled and the bed was not made. When we, quickly and apologetically, got into our new room there was no toilet paper and cobwebs in the corner.
Great value for the price No
The only problem was we were right next to the elevators lots of noise coming and going.
My cousin and I visited Virginia Tech in June 2008. At that time, the Courtyard Marriott was only 8 months old. The facility is beautiful, spacious and clean, the beds were very comfortable, the pool and hot tub delightful after a day of sightseeing, and there were hot chocolate chip cookies at the check in desk! There is no continenal breakfast, but a breakfast buffet with numerous choices that was well worth the price. This is a no smoking motel, so that was pleasant, as there were no lingering smoke odors in the room, which sported rich cherry furniture, microwave and fridge. There was even an extra telephone in the bathroom! I would definitely stay there again, and recommend this establishment highly to anyone visiting Blacksburg and Virginia Tech.
