Beautiful hotel. Nothing.
Parking is horrible. Very hard to even get to the entrance since there is no actual large enough driveway. Even with valet parking had to wait to even be able to get close enough to actually hand keys over. Other option is off site parking garage in walking distance around the corner.
Nothing Shady crowd, room didn't lock, rude management, tried to refuse a refund after my husband had to stay in room over hour to wait until they tried to fix lock- didn't even apologize.
Hotel staff and accommodations were top notch. Would absolutely stay here again!
Helpful Staff, comfy beds Valet Parking is awful. Hotel needs to identify local events that may crest additional demands on valet staff, then use that info to bring in extra people when necessary. When we stayed, there were two college graduations at the same time which created a huge backup on Saturday morning; the suggested 15 minute lead time to have car brought up by valets was about 30 minutes too short. Give valets at least 45 minutes, hour may be better.
Location is really good! No parking included and it wasn't advertised.

Location was great. Bed was comfortable. The parking situation was a joke. There was a line a mile long for the valet, which was the only option. My AC didn't work, so the room was incredibly hot. I told the front desk about it, and they didn't do anything about it.

The location That we had to pay $19 a day to have my car parked there. I asked the valet guy to park it on the first floor... He took it to the 3rd floor. The terrace was filthy. Sticky carpet in the hallway.
Valet staff was extremely nice. All staff was but valet staff was so kind. I did not have a working toilet and I called for maintenance and no one came to fix it.
Great, safe location for seeing downtown Norfolk sights including Nauticus and Wisconsin. Easy walk from hotel to Nauticus, so we didn't have to move the car. This isn't specific to this hotel, but Courtyard's approach to breakfast is very susceptible to long delays during busy times. Hampton Inn and Hyatt Four Points buffets are more efficient (and just as satisfying).
The staff was very friendly. Everything in this hotel was old. The beds could use replacing because they were worn and very uncomfortable. The towels need to be replaced; while they were fresh, they were stained with the essence of guests past. Wifi was unreliable. They walls are paper thin and you can every movement made by the guests in the next room and people walking down the hallway. It's not so bad during the day but it made in difficult to relax and "sleep inn" during the night. Check in time is at 4pm which I find to be insanely late.
Room was spacious and pretty quiet Wasn't terribly clean, and a lot of the fixtures were broken, like the inner bathroom door handle, which came off in your hand if it wasn't turner just so. Also, the restaurant on site was a massive disappointment; out of vegetables (!) and lacking basically anything vegetarian. Also didn't have its liquor license and couldn't accept credit cards. The hotel itself is not at a traffic light, so if you're trying to head to the Chesapeake bay bridge tunnel you are forced to make a uturn down the road.
Shuttle service was good. Good price to leave car while on trip. Had asked for a wake up call early AM and didn't get one. Lucky I had set my phone just in case.
