Clean rooms, friendly staff, very nice pool
Rooms were clean, pool and golf course looked nice. The hotel was large. Lots of parking. Starbucks across the street. For being such a huge hotel it was oddly unoccupied on a holiday weekend. There's huge ballrooms throughout the hotel and no events. No open cafes or pool bar. The gym is a hotel room turned into a gym. We barely saw anyone at the hotel. The hotel is huge and I think we saw maybe 3 hotel staff people of whom were quiet and melancholy. It seems like a scene out of a horror movie.
The hotel and surrounding golf course was beautiful! My boyfriend loves golf and he played as soon as we arrived.. While I watched & drive the cart. The people he played with were both out of towners and local... Both very friendly and nice. Hotel is in a convenient location... Starbucks & grocery store right across the street for morning coffee and snacks/food for the day. Room has a refrigerator... However, no microwave.. so don't bring back left overs unless you eat it cold. The first night, we were woken up by a STRONG smell of cigarettes. We thought it was coming from outside but we never opened our patio door for our whole stay. It was strong in the bathroom too... So it had to have been coming from the vents. I have really bad instant allergies to the smell of cigarettes smoke... So, that coming thru the vents had a bad effect on the rest of my day.
The bed The entrance of the hotel was nice, maybe it was because it was beside a golf course. They don't have anybody to help us with our things and they keep telling information to the customers that was misinforming. There was no pressure in the shower When we first got in our room, the fridge was located in the bathroom, and the plug keeps falling off, the phone was not working, so i had to call in for the operator through my phone and our tv was dated and its buttons was pushed in. They gave us another room, it was the same but the fridge was working and tv was okay. They only have maybe 13 channels and the rest is ppv.
Was given a room key when I checked in, when I got to the room it was already occupied. When I told frint desk she seemed shocked and asked if I inew who they were. then wanted to put me on first floor. When I said no decided then to move someone that hadn't checked in yet. That should have been first option.
Location was ok, about a $13 Uber ride from downtown Palm Springs and did have lots of parking. Booked this hotel last min for a getaway and figured how bad could it be since it was a resort and all the places I would choice typically were booked up for the holiday weekend. That was not the case, the hotel claims it's a resort just because it's connected to a golf resort and community. It's a super old room with worn out furniture, gross carpet and cheap decor. Randomly the bed was comfortable. Pool looked ok but was packed with families with kids. Nothing about the hotel made it resort like.
Great view! Lots of potential. People at the front desk were great. Dirty! Had a smell due to a leak in the ceiling on our floor. Pool bottom was dirty. I realize it is the desert but here was dust everywhere inside. Paint was old and dingy. Looked as though at one point was very nice and just not kept up.
The location was perfect. We were close to everything. We got there at night, so we didn't see anything till morning. It was a beautiful area, well kept, and the staff was very nice. Down side was it was outdated. The mini fridge in our room was on it's last leg, the tv was an old box, the decor was very Outdated. Over all the place needs a good renovation, but I felt like it was well worth what we paid for the room.
They let us do late check out to 1pm. The resort few was included in the the kayak charge. No hidden fees. At request upon check in they gave us a room with pool view. Would for sure stay there again when coming back to Palm Springs. No music at the pool most days. Large clump of hair in shower not cleaned. When they made our beds they took the earphones that were laying in the bed. Maybe they blended in. Phone didn't work in the room.
Tennis courts and golf course were nice. Some of the staff members were great; others not so much. I was told the place was about to undergo a complete remodel; I hope so! The whole interior is in desperate need of a makeover. The room was fairly clean on the surface, but it was dusty, the carpet and upholstery were stained, towels were thin and scratchy... the little touches were completely absent -- they provided one bar of soap we had to use for both the sink and shower, cups were flimsy plastic and not restocked every day, the pool area was barren and hot. The restaurants were depressing -- empty, with little natural light and no reason to want to go in. Some staff members were unhelpful, disinterested and didn't seem to care. All in all, worth about half of what we paid.
The staff was outstandingly gracious. The spa was wonderfull,n and the staff excellent. Ww would rate the food as mediocre. In particular, our $500 bill for 4 at The Edge Steakhouse was out of line for the quality of the dinner. The service matched. Upon returning to our room at 3 PM it has not been made up. Disappointing.
All the individuals who work there we're fantastic! From the valet to front desk to the steakhouse restaurant! I was able to get a really good deal on one of the hotel.com websites, otherwise I would not have been able to stay at the Ritz! My friends and I were treated like royality...a huge shout out especially to Steven!!!! He is at the steakhouse restaurant and was PERFECT!!!! Thank you. Everything was perfect!

Very nice Lobby area, pool area and food, room, bed. Staff were very pleasant Shortage of pool-area cleanup and horrible shortage of towels. No available loungers, but I'm guessing over half had been abandoned.
The room was nice and clean We had plumbing issues, the toilet had a slow flow, the bathroom sink and the shower would get clogged every 2 seconds. I found it very annoying because a great hotel like Renaissance, should troubleshoot every room before booking cuz it's not the customers responsibility to worry about major things like this.

This was my first time staying at the Renaissance. What can I say besides WOW!! It was 3 blocks away from the main strip. Everything was great! Beautiful pool, lovely room. They even have a FREE shuttle that took us to a local pub and back. Will be coming back A LOT.
Not enough self parking. Reckless driving through parking lot.
It is confusing having customer ratings showing as you bid on hotels. I thought I was booking a 4 star hotel but hat was just the customer rating that was showing. Once I paid I realized it's a 3.5. I would have crept looking at that price. Thanks
Kids in the adult pool
The hotel has a luxiourious ambiance. The facility needs to provide its guests with fresh towels daily. The parking should be free to all guests.
Well appointed Comfortable Clean Great pool area Very friendly, courteous and accommodating staff Not luxurious, but quite nice Parking was very lacking especially in the self-park area. We came home from a late night at the casino and there was literally no where whatsoever to park. Not in self-park or in valet park. We had to leave our car in the fire lane of the reception drive through area and leave the keys with the front desk so that they could move it if necessary. The valets moved it in the morning and we were not charged for valet parking which was thanks to the great staff.

Location is downtown, near all attractions Come on man! It's Palm Springs, it's a hundred and ten in the shade and your room ACs do not work...unacceptable! Six hours to get a tech to the room to tell me the condenser is inop...is that why the room is hot? Duh.
