Suite at the Montage was fantastic with views to die for - great property with paths to the beach. The room had a comfortable bed, plenty of closet space, the room was made up at night with turn down service - overall one of our favorite places of all time, ever! Food items a little pricy ($100+) for 2 omelets and Belgium waffles for breakfast and while we like nice places to stay we often find that the "high end" food is a little too gourmet for our tastes and we found ourselves not eating on the property after the first day.

Pool The Ocean View Room was not Really an Ocean view. We had to spend a lot more to get a slight view of ocean.
Hotel is directly on the beach, and I mean, at high tide, 15 feet from the surf. All rooms face the ocean. Romantic dining restaurant with views of the ocean. There are floodlights illuminating the surf so you can see the ocean while you dine. Below the restaurant is a very cool bar, also, directly on the beach. Excellent location as they say. The pool sundeck is nice and the valet service was good. pool was heated and there is a jacuzzi. The property is older and they can charge the money because of their location. You wouldn't pay this amount if the property wasn't on the beach. Byzantine design and labyrinth of hallways makes for a confusing layout and difficult to get anywhere on the property. The pool is not a resort pool and is only the size and shape of something you would encounter at any discount chain motel. There is no separation of brats from the spa and pool so peace and quiet in those areas with your honey will be difficult.
Location, rooms. Customer service could be better, we requested an early check in which they said was not a problem, we got there around 11am their regular check in is at 4:00pm, they told us our room wasn't ready yet but it would be ready soon. 4 hours later and still wasn't, they finally call us around 3:15pm to tell us that our room was ready, so we went to check in and when we said our name they told us it was a mistake that our room wasn't ready yet! So finally we check in at 3:50 pm, I guess still an early check in right? To top it off, when we received our bill, they charged us for a wrong service for almost $100 more! I don't know if we will be back.
The views No air conditioning
Booked an ocean-front room. It was 1/2 level above the pool and walkway to rooms. No way you could leave the blinds open to enjoy the view without people staring in. Asked for another room and was told none available; this at 3:40 pm. There we still lots of people checking in later. I believe that because I did not book directly, I was not given priority on this and below. And, arrived at 2:00 pm and told we could not check in until 4:00 pm. We were not offered a hospitality room and found later that they had them. When we did check in, were informed that check out was by noon. So, though rented a room for a day...it was really 20 hrs. We were given a dining credit, but in no way made up for the room. And then.....there was the non-operating elevator. After staying at the hotel 20+ times in the past on business, I will not return.
Das Hote ist sehr schön eingerichtet und auch von außen sieht es klasse aus. Es gibt ein großes zweistöckiges Parkhaus, indem wir kostenlos geparkt haben. Bis ins Zentrum von Laguna läuft man ca 20 Minuten an der Hauptstrasse entlang. Auf halber Strecke ins Zentrum gibt es auch einen Supermarkt, viele Restaurants und Cafes. Das Frühstück war nicht ganz so toll, denn man aß in einem Meetingraum. Es gab überhaupt keine Bedienung, nur ein Zimmermädchen war für das Buffet zuständig. Es gab weißes und braunes Toas, Bagels, gekochte Eier, light Joghurt, mehrere Sorten an Frühstücksfloken mit Milch und die Möglichkeit sich selber Waffeln zu backen. Aber es fehlte einfach an Atmosphäre.

I was a beautiful place to stay, clean and the staff was great. I would surely go back and stay longer for pleasure this time!!!!!
I'm a Pastor and I asked for a 1pm checkout due to a wedding ceremony I was performing in Huntington Beach at 4pm. Initially I was told no problem. I called on Saturday morning to confirm and my request was denied. Staff did not apologize, offer any solutions and I was very disappointed.
I didn't like much. My experience was horrible here. We were lied to by the staff. Due to their lies, we ended up stranded at the event we were attending. We booked this hotel specifically for the free shuttle, and even made sure of times and venue location that it would all work out. Well, it didn't and the customer service desk did NOTHING to resolve. What an awful experience! I will never stay there again!

The room was very large and very comfortable. The facilities were very clean and aesthetically pleasing, although I was unable to spend much time there due to a business conference I was attending. I read good things about the restaurant, however, was unable to check it out for the same reasons. I was given the opportunity to check-in before noon and to request additional towels, both of which I selected. However, upon arrival I was told that I was unable to check-in early AND that, even if possible, it would cost an additional $40. Furthermore, I did not receive additional towels. So, my question became, why even offer these things if you're not going to provide them upon request.
Everything about the hotel was really really good. It is such a good value for the money. The beds were very comfortable the room was very clean and the staff was very friendly wouldn't hesitate to stay there again anytime.
