The staff at the front desk was exceptionally rude when we checked in. The rooms are dated and unclean - our shower had black mold on the ceiling. While the campiness of the "holidome" (an inside pool and arcade located in the middle of the hotel that looks like it dates back to the fifties) was amusing, it did not make for the best view outside of our hotel window. Many of the rooms, like ours, had a view of the inside "dome"/courtyard and absolutely no natural light. The hotel was under renovation, which meant much of it was unusable and the parking lot had a pile of old toilets and dressers (like the furnishings still in our room) in the corner. Absolutely ridiculous that this place is $200/night - we would have been better off staying at the SuperLodge down the street. Then at least we'd only be paying $70/night for what I can assume is the same quality of stay.
Nice and quiet. Bed was comfortable great to come back and relax after a long day at the horseshow
Location to downtown and through way Pool/rec area not usable because of remodeling. The fumes from the remodel were choking and not ventilated at all. When we informed the manager of this, she was ambivalent about the issue.
We needed to be in town for unfortunate reasons, but found the bereavement rates to be exactly the type of affordability we needed. (Having two dogs with us also complicated our needs.) There were variables determining how long we were going to be there. We booked for two nights and twice added on additional nights. Each time, the staff at the desk were kind and made dealing with our lodging very easy. We ended up staying for seven nights and we would certainly go back. Everything was clean. There wasn't a 40-something inch flat screen TV, but it's not that kind of place. Lot of out of town work trucks. Good sign - those guys know which hotels are a good value. Bed was too soft for my liking, but still comfortable and in good shape. Clearly has been a while since it was renovated. The recliner in our room was a bit beat up, but we weren't there to sit on a chair in our hotel room.
I wasn't expecting anything fancy for the price, but whichever reviewer posted on google that it was like paying to stay in a homeless shelter was right on the money. It was nasty, sketchy. The only bonus is they allow dogs but I spent the whole time scared of what my dogs might find in that junk heap.
I liked the Location , close to everything.. I liked that it was quiet and I could rest when I needed too.. I didn't like the price and the fact that for that inflated price , there was no pool or room service , no cleaning or fresh linen the whole 5 days .
Bed was comfortable Strong odor of cleaning chemicals in room Odor of mold in lobby Poor "free breakfast" choices. Hot was limited to make your own toast. Cold selection was a small selection of packaged muffins or a choice of two cold cereals. Towel rack in bathroom broken Exterior door had gaps between door and frame, also no safety chain sink stopper not connectd. Had to reach under sink to operate stopper TV had a limited number of selections, was older CRT tube model with somewhat small screen, Difficult to find (limited unlit signage)
It was cheap, the sheets seemed clean, the smell was no worse than you'd expect from a crappy motel room (like cigarettes last smoked 15 years ago and cleaning product) and the staff was helpful and friendly. The heat and air con were effective and easy to control. Shower wasn't hot enough, bed was hard and lumpy, cosmetic damage on furniture, peeling wall paper, thin walls through which neighbors could be clearly (and loudly) heard. Not all of he outlets had holes for he ground prong, so I could only just charge my laptop while using it in bed.
Great staff, very friendly, beautiful grounds, large rooms, continental breakfast included, microwave and refrigerator in room, Even though the room was large, there was only one chair to sit on.
The room was clean and staff was very pleasant. I would stay here again if I return to this area. Very difficult to find. There were no signs on the road indicating there was a Courtyard by Marriott up the hill and behind the large wall. There were signs for all of the shopping stores located up the hill, but not for the hotel. The street sign was also hidden on the opposite side of the exit ramp and right before another exit.
If you're staying up by Rhinebeck, Kingston, Saugerties this is a no brainer place to stay. It's very clean, and the staff is fantastic. The pool is small, but indoors. The hotel is in a shopping area which can be really useful if your forgot a bathing suit. There's a Target and JC Penney within walking distance. The Bistro has microwaveable food and Starbucks coffee in pump carafes. The food isn't terribly good, but there are many, many other options outside the hotel. The view from your room can be less than inspiring especially if you're looking out at the dirt field waiting for construction of some kind. These are both very, very minor issues and shouldn't take away from how clean, efficient and well located this hotel is.
We attended an appointment with our Autistic son's bio-medical doctor nearby so location was key. We enjoyed the pool, bistro and the fact that you have alcohol. Certain staff could be a tad bit more friendly. Alcohol prices were a bit high. Breakfast only served to 9:30am/10am weekdays/weekends.
food in restaurant was OK needs renovating; rooms OK but corridors, stairwells, public areas generaly need re-decorating
The beds were comfy, clean and appropriately provisioned. The kids loved the pool! The walls were run down with cracks/old water damage and the window was open a little and wouldn't shut all the way.
There we not very many people in the hotel. Breakfast was the cheapest continental i have come across in a long time, I thought with an attached restaurant it would have been better. Also, when i checked in the first room they put me in had no hot water.
