We often travel between Texas and Colorado and vice-versa. The Drury Inn and Suites in Amarillo has become our standard overnight resting place. It is conveniently located, clean, and quiet. The popcorn machine in the lobby creates a smell of rancid grease throughout the ground-level and second floors of the hotel. I guess that some folks like the popcorn, but I'm not in that group.
Staff was very friendly and made us feel so welcome. I really enjoyed kickback and there was plentyNot of space for us and two little ones! Def recommend! Nothing :) Was great!
I only stayed for one night, but despite the 'Express' name, it was a fine place to stay. The room was very large and was equipped with a microwave and refrigerator. The bathroom was large and well appointed with a porcelain tub and plenty of room, The location is close to I40 but not immediately on the frontage road (It's behind a Texas Roadhouse). The desk clerk told me the hotel was build in 2005, but it looked brand new inside and out. The neighborhood isn't scary either. There was a decent free breakfast that included sausage patties, biscuits and sausage gravy plus the usual rolls. The only downside is that it is a little pricier than some of the other motels in Amarillo but you get what you pay for. All in all I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room.
We were so pleased with this new hotel! So convenient to dining and accesss to the interstate. The bed was absolutely the most comfortable I have ever slept on! We will always stay here when traveling through Amarillo!!
We spent the night here after traveling 600 miles across two time zones from Flagstaff. The room was big, clean, inviting, with plenty of counter space in the bathroom, good water pressure, comfortable bed and pillows, good heating/air conditioning, with indoor pool, exercise room, wireless Internet and excellent breakfast. Within walking distance of a Texas Roadhouse restaurant (a chain started in Indiana, of all places) that served an excellent Texas steak. I would definitely stay here again.
We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it to others. The rooms were clean, the bed very comfortable, and the location was ideal for us!
Beautiful new hotel. We could not believe we were in A Holiday Inn Express Suites. It's beautifully appointed from the Lobby to the rooms. Love it here!
One of the best hotels in the area and very clean
The staff was beyond helpful. The hotel was spotless, and the bed was so comfortable it felt like it was hugging me. When I am in the city again, I will stay there.
We weren't expecting much from this hotel b/c of the location, but we were pleasantly surprised. It is very nice, with great rooms, good service and a good breakfast with lots of variety. If we ever have to go back to Amarillo again, we'll definitely return.
My nephew and myself stayed here one nite while traveling back from Arizona. It was a newer location, great and courteous staff, clean, good complimentary breakfast.
The hotel is easy to get to and has ample parking close by. The hotel is well designed and the staff make each guest feel welcome. We'd definitely stay here again.
Everything. I was pleased with everything. The value was good and the facilities, location and amenities were great. Couldn't think of anything.
The staff on duty when we arrived was excellent. Isabelle was friendly, pleasant and helpful. The location was convenient. The room was quiet and comfortable. The bathroom ceiling had a leak which we discovered after we had unpacked. We did not want to change rooms so we didn't mention it until check out. The leak was not new...there were several patches on the ceiling! The breakfast staff and another staff member were blocking access to the breakfast while they chatted...twice I had to ask them to move. The stairwell carpets are all in need of replacement. There are signs for vending machines which do not exist. There is a little shop for drinks (not sure about anything else) near the front lobby. This was discovered after all floors were checked for vending machines as per signs.
Close to shopping and recreation. Hot tub wasn't hot, it was filled with very cold water. Shower was warm, not hot.
Nothing. Never made it to the room. The front desk help. They could not make you individual keys. They had someone escort you to your room and had to key you in with a master key. Their key machine had been flooded 3 WEEKS prior to our stay. The front desk lady said it was not their fault. When asked why this information was not given when reservations were made she got mad and told me she was going to cancel my reservation and asked me to leave the property. Very unprofessional!!!!!!!!!
The staff was pleasant and friendly. The breakfast was substantial and there was plenty of seating room. Loved the Texas shaped waffles. We were only there overnight as we stopped to let a snow storm pass and left early the next morning. We booked a king room and were given two queen beds. I verified with the clerk that it was a king room. She said, "Yes, you are in a king room." By the time we got up to the room, we were too tired to argue. One of the first things we noticed was that the carpet was not clean. It looked as if it had not been vacuumed since the last guest. The lamps were unplugged as the on/off switches were missing or broken. We had bend down and reach under the tables to plug them in. We have always had a good experience at Comfort Suites and were surprised by this experience.
The staff was as kind and accommodating as possible, and felt genuinely apologetic for the deplorable state of the hotel. It is impossible to even pull up to the main doors of the hotel, as the entire vehicle pull-through area is filled and blocked with construction items. The elevators were all out of service so we had to heft our luggage up three flights, along with out very you children.
Location is close to shopping and medical. Breakfast food was good. Noisy lobby that spilled into room, thin walls. Tiny bathroom, hair on floor from previous guests. Small, worn bath towels, beds are too firm. Coffee tastes terrible.
Facility was well kept and staff was friendly and professional. Location was convenient and quiet.
Location & breakfast Lady at the front desk was rude. Told us we didn't have a reservation when I gave her the conformation number. I also gave her my first and last name several times. I had to get KAYAK to call her to prove we had reservations. Our room was loud with thin walls and ceiling. A/C didn't work. The window was open when we got the room. Front desk said only room available.
The pool was great and jacuzzi fun and large but there was way too much chlorine which started to irritate my kids eyes. There was a confusion about who was paying and rate, they didn't seem to understand going through a third party travel thing as they tried to charge me.
The staff was good except for the cleaning lady that kept waking us up. The room was nice and clean but our comforter had unknown stains and it was never clean. They had a great breakfast and a nice pool. It's a little outside the city but nicely located near the mall and highway!!
The staff, the rooms, breakfast, the facilities, pool and hot tub were great.
Clean and neat. Great breakfast. Coming in from the west late at night, it was difficult for me to find the entrance. The two gals at the front desk were not friendly, did not mention anything about breakfast, and appeared to be more interested about carrying on their conversation than striving to make us feel welcome. That bothered me all night.
