Great location. Friendly staff. Airy, light room faced the city, and we watched a huge tour boat dock. Live music made it lively and fun in the lobby Friday evening. We parked our car and were surprised by the trash laying around in the parking garage.
The pool was beautiful, though more than one hot tub would have been nice. The hotel is gorgeous and the staff was wonderful. Our bathroom did not look like it had been cleaned very well. There was hair all over the counter and floor when we got there, and we had just walked in.
Staff was amazing! We told them it was Our Anniversary and there was champagne and chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us when we can back from dinner! The shuttle to the strand was also great very convenient so we could attend Dickens on the Strand! Room was small and there was a wedding going on the night we stayed we could hear all the wedding guests screaming when the bride and groom left at like 11:30pm. It took a whole for the crowd to leave and quit down.
Absolutely nothing. Completely unprofessional in the way they handled the entire situation. Best part of my short time there was the valet service. After traveling all day I called them about 10:30 and told them that we were still on our way. They had called me around 6:00pm to make sure I was still coming and everything was fine. When I made the later phone call, everyone at the front desk kept putting me on hold. No one had an answer to why my room was not going to be available. Once someone finally picked up, I was told that there was a water leak and that they had been trying to contact me for the past hour. They told me that all they had on file was a 1-800 number when if fact they had called me several hours earlier. She said that she had been calling a long list of people about it but when we asked how many rooms were damaged... 2 was the given answer. So why would you have a LONG list if it was only two rooms. At that point they were willing to put us up somewhere else but had not already booked a room for us. They said they would call back in five minutes when they had booked us a room elsewhere. After 25 minutes we decided to call back and management told us that they were unsure if they were going to be able to put us up somewhere. Once we got to the hotel they directed us to the San Luis Resort and told us we would be there for the night. When I asked about the other night, the manager was confused and not sure what to say. It was a terrible experience all the way around. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Management is better at a fast food restaurant...
The heated pool was a nice treat
excellent location right on the seawall. You can park your own car in their parking garage without the need to valet. staff was nice. The entire facility is very old, the rooms are small, overall dirty due to poor maintenance.

The staff was friendly from the second we pulled in and through our entire stay. We were there to celebrate a birthday and came back to an awesome surprise in our room after relaxing at the pool all day. While at the pool we had Hope as our waitress and she was awesome. She remembered our names and drinks and constantly made sure we were satisfied. There wasn't a single thing we disliked.
Beautiful hotel, wonderful location. Terrible housekeeping staff and front desk. Managers did comp our breakfast and offered to move us the last night. Too little too late. Lazy housekeeper to busy talking to maintenance men. When we asked why she didn't empty the water from the ice bucket she said she wasn't allowed? Dirty glasses left in the room. No drawer space - literally we had to store our belongings in the night stand. And this is luxury?
Beautiful hotel and beautiful views. Love the Hotel Galvez and sister property Tremont. Never miss an opportunity to stay when the rates are low.

Nothing the staff never called back over booked and we did not get to stay. They would not return call. We lost 211.00 and never got to stay there. Everything staff promised to call placed on hold multiple times would not assist. Worst experience with a hotel ever.

Das Problem mit dem Internet wurde erklärt, warum es sich immer trennte Internet konnte nur 2 Geräte zu einer Zeit bewältigen. Der Pool war kalt. Es gab eine Kaltfront und man konnte nicht die Heizung anmachen.
Die Zimmer sind wunderschön. Die Bilder werden nicht gerecht.
Die Nähe zum Strand Eingang ist nicht behindertengerecht. Nur Treppen zur Verfügung stehen.
Das Personal war exzellent!
Wir mochten die Lage, die Geschichte, das sieht. Kein Parkplatz, manchmal ein bisschen laut.
Das Hotel war wunderschön. Mein Zimmer war sehr komfortabel und der Service war sehr gut.

The room was immaculate, fresh and updated. The lobby, cafe and upstairs lounge were also comfortable and well furnished. The grounds were beautifully manicured. We were able to come and go to the convention center without having to go outside. The tour through the Rain Forest was intriguing. Thank you for the efficient shuttle service. I wish we could have stayed longer. The time it took to check-in was longer than average. The cafe waitress at breakfast was unacceptably slow to attend. Thankfully a bus boy stopped at our table to ask if we'd been helped, then went to get someone to get us menus. Our meals arrived barely warm. We had to ask for water during the meal also. The cafe service did not match the luxury of the rest of our stay.
Air went out the 1st night and didn't have hot water the next morning. Room issues and inflated prices
The room decor and comfort was nice. What followed was distressing...... My purse was stolent in front of the reception desk. I spoke out openly in the lobby stating, " My purse was stolen help!" No one came to help. I went to the reception desk and said the same thing, described the purse to the receptionist at the checkin desk, and she asked me what i wanted her to do. Shocked, I went to the bell desk and repeated that my purse had been stolen asking if they'd seen anything. The woman at that desk didn't get up or so much as ask me a question. A friend and I apprehended the thief who'd stolen my purse and was awaiting her car in vallet. Yes she was a hotel guest. Mr. Davilla from Security arrived, took her license plate and said he'd call the police. He was the only one who stepped in to help us. My children were scared watching this all unfold. Especially my little boy who tried to help me spot the person who took my purse as I didn't get any assistance from Hotel personal for several minutes. We were left to our own defenses.
let just say what's not to like, this place was a blast No microwave was the only thing
Very Kid Friendly, lots of Activities, Close to Everything Galveston has to offer. Water pressure to the showers is pretty weak.
We have stayed at All the finer Hotels on Galveston Island. Moody Gardens is by far the Nicest, cleanest and updated Hotel on the island. We were in town meeting with a Real Estate agent and decided to give Moody Gardens a try since we had never stayed there. We were Pleasantly Surprised. This Hotel was Spotless and the staff was more than friendly and seemed Happy to be there. We couldn't stay longer. This Hotel is Not on the beach so that might be a drawback for some. It does however have the waterpark which is the bomb for kids.
