This location is fine, decently clean and the one person who mans the front desk from at least 4 to 7 was polite and nice. Problem is there was JUST ONE person there on a busy Saturday evening. I waited 30 minutes in a line that went out the front door to check in. When I asked if this was normal procedure the guy gave me a look that said he was doing all he could do. I felt for the poor guy. It is not his fault. I will not book again in this location until I know they are adequately staffed. I waited 30 minutes in a line that went out the front door to check in. The staff were amazing and the room was nice the lighting and the light switches were a bit confusing,
Hotel was convenient for our purpose. Service people were polite and friendly. Where do I start!!! We booked a suite and paid for a suite via Kayak/Travelocity. I had called ahead on the 26th to advise them we would be a late arrival (our plane did not get in until 11pm.). We arrived late Friday and were told that the suite we wanted was not available. N o explanation. We were given an oversized single room and were advised that the manager (Della O'Brian) would contact us and explain the mixup. Della never called. We got a call on Saturday from the Sales Mgr. who said to take it up with Travelolcity as the room we got is what was agreed to by La Quinta???? Additionally, the phone was not working properly. We couldn;t call the front desk and our message light blinked for three days. We had no outgoing phone service for the entire stay (Friday thru Monday) We told the front desk on two occasions and we also told the Sales Mgr. about the phone. Not sure what the problem was but we had no one come to the room to fix the phone. Finally, I couldn't pin anyone down to give me a price differential between the suite and the room we received.
There was a nice marked area to walk our dog. The staff member, Zusha, at the front desk was professional, polite and very personable. She was very attentive to any questions or concerns.
I liked the cleanliness of the room, the flexibility of the staff, and the pool.
This hotel was easy to get to (with not being familiar with the area). Centrally located and close to restaurants and shops -- Target being nearby was a plus! Big parking lot, easy access to get in. King sized bed was comfortable, bathroom was clean, shower was very hot and pressure was good. We did not get a chance to use the pool or other facilities. My partner and I always try to stay at independent hotels and inns, and avoid hotel chains whenever we can. We prefer older buildings and places with some personality. The hotel felt dated, but unfortunately not in a charming way. Our room was very very cold when we got in; when we turned the heater on it filled the room with a strong burning smell that did not go away. There was a pair of sunglasses hanging in one of our lamps that said "TEAM BRIDE" (leftover from the previous guests, no doubt). The walls were incredibly thin, we could hear everything (and I mean everything) that went on in the rooms close to us, as well as everything in the hallway. Because of this, I did not sleep well. The staff was helpful enough when checking in and out but neither of us got a particularly warm or welcoming feeling from anyone working there. One of the staff members was just sitting awkwardly on the front steps and stared at us without saying anything anytime we walked by ... weird. Free breakfast was average; one can always hope that a free breakfast might be surprisingly delicious but this was not. At the end of the day I would recommend this as an average hotel to someone who needs a cheap place to stay in the area, but would not recommend it to someone wanting a more luxurious weekend getaway. I'm a bit confused by the glowing reviews this place gets, but maybe it's just in comparison to the other hotels in the area?
I used to stay there because of work. This time it was to get together with retired coworkers... and that is the hotel we chose because it has been so good to us in the pass.
