The rooms were great, staff was super courteous and helpful, love the feel and look of the place overall. Hope to be back often. They helped make our wedding incredible. Now this is nitpicking, but there was a few Rollie Pollies in our room...I know we are out in rural country so critters and bugs are inevitable. Additionally, there were some inconsistencies and issues with room rates and reservations prior to arrival.
The room was great! The balcony view was very enjoyable. The communication with the lodge was difficult at best. There were fires in the area and we tried for 2 days at all hours of the day to call them to see if we were still OK to come only to get no one picking up the phone. We had two one night reservations and so we didn'the check out after the first night only to get a rude call from the front office and then put on hold for 30 minutes and then a hang up. They eventually called back and rudely explained that they were very busy and they had to move around some people in order for us to stay in our same room. Then told us we would not have housekeeping that day so I asked for extra towels which we never got until we asked the night staff for them.
Staff was extremely friendly and the outside surroundings were beautiful The mattress was extremely old and uncomfortable. Both my friend and I could hardly sleep due to the uncomfortable and quite old mattress. For the price we paid for the hotel, we thought that the mattress should have been upgraded.
Nothing. It was overpriced. The room was furnished with old and outdated furniture. The building was falling apart. you can hear every footstep from outside and every conversation in the room next door.
Lovely landscaping and garden. Basic room. Wallking distance to wine tasting in village was nice. Air conditioning would have been nice as room hot in afternoon, but was fine at night. No hairdryer.
