Clean room at a good price. Breakfast exceeded expectations!
The location is good. The breakfast is good, a lot to chose from. My second day there however, they closed the door 4 mins early and all I wanted was a banana but couldn't get one. One of the beds in the room had crumbs when I pulled the the comforter back. The temp is locked so I was cold the whole stay since I couldn't get the heat going. Parking is really limited. I was there for business and checked out at 9:30 am. I left the city at 7pm. Got home and realized I left my keys there. The staff had them yet never attempted to get a hold of me to let me know. That's pretty bad customer service. So I get drive 2 hours each way to go pick them up.
Really not much to dislike. It was quite, comfortable, close to everything and reasonably priced for the areas. The only issue was the jetted tub did not work or hold water the best, which was really a minor nitpick, otherwise it was great.
The price was nice, I liked that they had a light breakfast but this is about it. 1st the 2 beds in our room were so hard we didn't get any sleep. I couldn't wait to get home so I could finally sleep. The beds felt as hard as the table in our room. 2nd the air conditioning in our room was out. I was told because it was humid that day that is why the air conditioner was broken. I was so close to driving home that night we stayed. We drove over an hour to stay here and the other 3 ladies with me didn't want to get in the car and drive home Saturday night. When I asked the front desk about the air conditioner and the bed she pretty much said "oh well". In my mind she made me feel like well I got your money and you can leave if you want. I would not recommend anyone to stay here.
The pool was really nice. Rooms are not modern. They overbooked on our class of room so we had to go with an "upgrade". It was a two queen room with a gross jetted tub. We would prefer a king with our infant.
From check-in to check-out this Holiday Inn exceeded my expectations of what I would expect in a hotel. Guri (excuse the misspelling) at the front desk made my check in process and my stay a 5 star experience. Ian on the Night Audit made the evenings and early mornings exceptionally outstanding and comforting. I will always look recommend and stay at this location after this experience. Thank you all for making my stay so enjoyable. The location is a bit strange and off the map. But once located, it is easy to find. One recommendation I would make is to communicate when guests have a late checkout. On several occasions I had a 2pm checkout which was approved and verified with management but yet the house keepers walked in at 11:00-1:00pm. Communication is key in situations such as these.
I loved the free breakfast - so many tasty options! I also loved that the bath products are Bath & Body Works. The whole place was very clean and quiet; I really loved staying there. There isn't a ton of lighting in the bathroom, so it's a little dark while showering. It's not a problem at all but that's my one minor complaint about the room.
The rooms are clean, and the staff was terrific. The front desk staff and the house cleaning staff were outstanding. A little hard to find. A bigger sign near the road would be helpful.
The room was very comfortable and clean. Nice breakfast. We forgot some shoes in the closet on a Thursday. I called the next day to ask if they had been found and they said they did not have them. We had to go that way on Friday and stopped in to ask again. Front desk clerk remembered my call and claimed they were still missing. We asked to talk to housekeeping and she found the shoes for us. Don't give up after one call if you forget something. Also, while they claim to be pet friendly, there is no grassy area for them.
Nice pool, awesome bed, enjoyed my stay! Couldn't take a bath because it was always draining the water :(
Staff was very helpful, rooms were very clean, excellent breakfast included. Also liked having refrigerator/coffee/microwave in room. Even though right next to the highway, we did not hear traffic noise or any noise from other rooms.
Close to Camp Pendleton. My son is a Marine! Close to freeways Clean hotel Continental breakfast was good
Beautiful view, great amenities. Mattress not as comfortable as you'd expect from a resort of this caliber.
I enjoyed the hotel because the location is spectacular and dana harbor is nearby. This is a great weekend getaway because of the numerous shops and restaurants as well as activities that people could enjoy! I love the options of renting kayaks, paddle boats and paddle boarding. People can even go whale watching. I wishes the pools were open later, at least till 10:00 pm ( to swim ). I also wish the trees in the park didn't block the view of the harbor, but I suspect that's a city thing. I just remember about 10 years ago a friend of mine married at the hotel. I remembered the spectacular view of the boats sailing in the background . The trees from lantern park block the view now.
Very comfortable bed and bedding. Bed and view of the harbor.
Thank you to Nicole at the front desk. Awesome Babymoon.
Location Extra daily resort fee. No slippers or free bottled water for Marriott member. Valet parking not answering phone. Only valet parking available. Bathroom cabinetry old and worn out. Poor water pressure for shower.
I like a customer service. Great service. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! We will come back. N/A

I have religiously stayed at this Laguna Cliff Marriott for close to 20 years . But on several occasions , this last trip was the worst , where your check out experience ruins the wonderful memories of the entire stay . Most customers would never come back , but the reason I keep coming back only to encounter check out nightmares . For instance . I book my room there through Kyyack who send my reservation and payment on to Expedia , who email me my confirmation number and itenerary for my 2 nights. Because of a flight councilation by AA.com I am forced to just move my 2 nights forward 1 day and notify both Expedia and the Laguna Cliff's , and they both confirm no problem no change in rates . So at check out my $159.00 all inclusive rate per night had changed a little less than $900 including my payment to Expedia for one night , and because the airlines had lost my luggage and my money and medicines and all my clothes I didn't have sufficient funds to pay the inflated rate and refused to allow me to pay by check even with my bank president on the phone garrateeing available funds . So I had told the manager I had $300 in cash for an emergency , to which she said use your emergency cash or don't leave the property . So I left with $25 dollars to get to San Jose to meet with Ebay and then back to LA for my flight home . I was able to sell my $1200 iPhone for $550 to enable me to have a place to sleep the next night , and in Silicon Valley $550 doesn't get you much of a room . AA.com still has not found my luggage with my billfold medicine , keep in mind I was just recovering for 2 complete hip replacements . So with no money to drive back to LA to turn my car into Hertz and fly home , I was forced to turn my car into Hertz at the San Francisco International Airport which changed my Hotwire rate of $10.95 per day for 6 days into an $895 dollar charge that included the payment I had already paid Hotwire for the entire week . Finally at AA.com's counter I explain I have no options , no money to drive back to LA to fly home and that I pleaded with her to change my ticket at no charge to fly back from San Francisco to home and she reluctantly agreed but only if I took the red eye . I explained I had not eating almost 2 days , she said do you want this deal take it or get out of my line and contact AA.com/Customer Relationships . Next
It's a beautiful hotel perfect for weddings and events. I was very happy with the upgrade to an executive suite. It's a first come first serve policy for free 2 hour bike rentals but I wish they had more than two smaller bikes out of the several bikes they had.
The location was nice. Don't book this room thinking you will be getting the price you see. It will be about $100 more a night than the listed price. There is an extra fee for everything. I am just waiting for the 2 weeks after checkout fee because I am sure it's coming.
Has agreat location and the staff is very friendly. Very Noisy, We could hear our neighbors on the room above us walking until 3 am and then at 6.30 or 7 people going down the hallway, you can hearing them talk like they are inside the room. Badly isolated walls.
The Holiday Inn has everything someone needs for a quick weekend trip. Poo/jacuzzi, big rooms, friendly staff, and the location is perfect for walking into downtown San Clemente.
