Great location with everything you could ever want in a resort hotel.
Beach front location. Not worth it, deluxe king $536 was dated and noisy on the ground floor. Lots of extra charges - rest fee $25, valet $36, breakfast allowance $75, if two people take the buffet and have a coffee each that's already over the $75 allowance! Rude, defensive front desk. Very unimpressed.
The hotel was very accommodating and the staff was nice. They had all the amenities from beech crushers to surf boards. The kids had fun in the pools and roasting marshmallows. All around great time!!!! The long walk to the room from the lobby!
Probably the most excellent staff at any Hyatt, I have ever stayed. It was my daughter's 9th birthday and they made her feel like a million bucks. Send a card to the room signed my more staff members than I have family. The pools are great. The water slides are even better and the beach is clean and well-maintained. I will be coming back.
The hotel was clean and location was fantastic. No parking. I was charged a 25$ fee per day as a "resort fee". I have never seen this in my entire life, and this fee was not included when I made the booking. I feel cheated by kayak. Complained to reception at checkout and they said all I can do is email kayak.
Loved the pools and access to so many things around the hotel The smoke detectors went off at 3:15 am in both the hallway and 1 of our 2 room suite! A neighbor then began yelling at someone else about having a cigarette. We even had to change from our original room due to the lingering smell of smoke from previous guests.
liked the restaurant in the courtyard There were large bugs in our bathroom -- unacceptable
Everything about the hotel was really really good. It is such a good value for the money. The beds were very comfortable the room was very clean and the staff was very friendly wouldn't hesitate to stay there again anytime.
I'm a Pastor and I asked for a 1pm checkout due to a wedding ceremony I was performing in Huntington Beach at 4pm. Initially I was told no problem. I called on Saturday morning to confirm and my request was denied. Staff did not apologize, offer any solutions and I was very disappointed.
The room was very large and very comfortable. The facilities were very clean and aesthetically pleasing, although I was unable to spend much time there due to a business conference I was attending. I read good things about the restaurant, however, was unable to check it out for the same reasons. I was given the opportunity to check-in before noon and to request additional towels, both of which I selected. However, upon arrival I was told that I was unable to check-in early AND that, even if possible, it would cost an additional $40. Furthermore, I did not receive additional towels. So, my question became, why even offer these things if you're not going to provide them upon request.
I didn't like much. My experience was horrible here. We were lied to by the staff. Due to their lies, we ended up stranded at the event we were attending. We booked this hotel specifically for the free shuttle, and even made sure of times and venue location that it would all work out. Well, it didn't and the customer service desk did NOTHING to resolve. What an awful experience! I will never stay there again!
The staff made it for us. They were accommodating, attentive, and courteous. The location is walking distance to many shops, eateries, and beach. Pets are allowed and not charged excessively. The rooms are clean Euro style. I was thought we were getting a hotel on the beach but it was across the street. When I called to check on the reservation I made a remark what a great deal it was $ wise for a hotel room on the beach and I was never informed that it was not on the beach. The booking reservations department misinformed us on pet rules on the beach.
It's clean, great location, reasonable price. the staff was overly accommodating & wonderful. all staff members acknowledged me in hallways, valet, etc. etc. I didn't think the quality of food at zamzala (?) was that great but wouldn't keep me from returning.
We enjoyed our stay in your hotel. Your accomodations were excellent and your staff were very courtious and helpful. You need to provide more staff during heavy check out times such as Sunday before noon.

Loved the bathroom and bed, the two most important areas for me when I travel. I upgraded my room once I arrived and my room had a great patio/balcony with two outdoor loungers and a table with 4 chairs, allowing for entertaining friends outside instead of in the room. I wasn't crazy about the "pet friendly" policy since I'm not a dog fan, but it wasn't really a problem.
Close to the action, new, modern look. They lie about having bathtubs, turndown service, etc.
Shopping and dining. Absolutely no complaints at all! By far, the best hotel we have ever stayed at. Not only have we stayed in 4 Star hotels, I've also worked for one and they could not compare to the excellent service we received from the Shorebreak!
Huntington Beach downtown area was nice, close & convenient. Poor lighting in room and bathroom/ no fan in bathroom.

Staff was friendly The hot tub was closed the entire time. The gym was closed for one of the 3 days we were there. Valet parking is $35/day extra, bike rentals extra...no amenities and not cheap!!!
The hotel's proximity to the beach is great. They have a wonderful restaurant with ocean views--very nice. The walls are paper thin--you can hear everything from people talking to dogs barking (it's a pet friendly hotel). Also, the fridge in the room would start buzzing every hour and wake us up. The staff was not very polite when we asked if we could switch rooms (we paid for a nice ocean view room and instead got an ugly view of a construction site). The driver of the shuttle who took us to Main Street was telling us how much nicer the Hyatt down the street is (next time I'll stay there!).
The manager was awesome!!! So understanding and helpful The pictures did not show what the hotel looks like whatsoever. The lobby and facilities were extremely outdated, although the room was nice. The poolside service was awful-- we asked for water and he brought us bottles water and was going to charge us something like $5 per bottle so I asked for a cup of water instead, which he said they don't serve because "it tastes bad." But he served it to the person next to us. I then went to the bar and got a cup of water. The bartender was also very nice and accomadating!
The hotel lobby was beautiful and the employees were very nice. We had 3 different groups of family coming in and the person who checked us in gave us top notch service and was able to let us check-into our rooms early. He even let us have free shuttle tickets for everyone for Disneyland. I definitely will be back. With a group of 12 of us it was much easier to have the breakfast buffet at the restaurant in the lobby. it turned out great!

As soon as we walked in we felt welcomed, It was our hotel choice as newly weds on our honeymoon and Helen the front desk coordinator was great! She bumped our room from standard king to a full suite!! Must I add she also gave us complimentary chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of wine!! This was all unexpected! I would definitely book here again and recommend it! :)
The hotel has an amazing staff. The two restaurants are very good and offer really good food unlike most hotel restaurants. We had the one bedroom suite and it was very clean. The hotel has its own shuttle bus going to and from Disney check out is at 1200 am. I paid $170 per night and it was far better than the Fairfield inn by Marriott which is located right across the main entrance to Disney Land. There is a Starbucks inside the hotel!! The prices in the little store of the hotel are somewhat ridiculous but it is a great hotel. Parking is rediculous with $27 per night. One Bus is not enough during peak hours to get guests to park.
It was clean, convenient for our conference, room was comfortable, staff and service was above expectations. Hotel food/restaurant/bar was good. Also close to other restaurants.
Loved the location, room cleaness, staff was very friendly and bed was confortable. Breakfast buffet was a bit over priced.
Easy access via shuttle which is convenient. The shuttle/parking should be free for guests... I wouls have given an extra star for the extra value.
Staff was very courteous and friendly. Excellent customer service. The location was great. Loved taking the shuttle to Disneyland from the hotel. Hotel is well kept. Loved the lobby - spacious. The Starbucks, gift shop and deli. Even thought we felt self parking was expenses we appreciated that the parking was adjacent to the hotel. Overall we had a wonderful time at the Hyatt Regency Orange County and we look forward to staying there again. The mattress' were not comfortable. The pillows looked worn, pretty flat. Housekeeping didn't leave us enough towels on two days. We got confused when we drove up to the hotel and staff (not sure if they were all Valet staff) came to our car and immediately asked us if self park or valet. and began to pull our bags out of the card. We had no idea what we were going to do without checking in first. That was a bit overwhelming. We felt self parking was too expenses.
Everything was very good overall and with a few minor issues (mostly personal things) they did a very good job with everything. Room was clean, as well as the bathroom. View was super nice and clear from the 16th floor, south tower. Staff in hotel was courteous and fast. Soap in bathroom was used. TV was pure static. No complimentary breakfast. Valet was sort of rude.
What a friendly and service oriented team! Made us feel very welcome and well taken care of.
This is our 4th stay in Hyatt regency orange county this represent how we are loyal to this hotel we just feel like home
I have had a big problem staying there due to the feather pillows. The air system is very dusty with a poor filter. The pillows are full of dust. I had a bad allergic reaction to the dust. The service was very good.
